Hello, my name is Dave Weston and I’ve been in love with the music industry for about 20 years and am affiliated with a group of artists/entrepreneurs that have started their own record label.

I’m best known for my songwriting abilities, production ear and being a recording artist.

I’m currently working in the studio (writing and recording) with an artist mentioned as being 1 of the top 100 up and coming new artists in the industry.

I’ve written articles about careers in music that can be found on the web. I’ve also done extensive research on music careers through personal experience, reference books, sources online as well as interviews with some professionals actually working and succeeding in some of the most desired careers in music.

As far as why I’ve chosen to start this blog… I just feel that many eager individuals have the wrong impression as to what goes on in this industry. Many pursue a future under the impression that only music artists (or the like) make it big in music. They either don’t consider the other careers in music or just don’t know about them. I want to show you what ALL the careers in music are about, thus allowing you to weigh your options and create an educated decision about your future in music, rather then guessing and most likely being wrong as so many today are.
